GESTALT THERAPY

Gestalt therapy sets up “experiments.” After identifying what you think the desired change should be, you act out the change to test it. You practice the voice tone, body posture and belief system of the change to ascertain its effectiveness. Through this process, you learn to actually “do” the change.

HYPNOTHERAPY

Becoming relaxed allows you to think clearer and quicker. Hypnotherapy is just a way to do that. In the process you are awake and aware and guiding yourself but you are guiding yourself on a deeper level than with talk therapy. In the process, you go down 10 steps, relaxing more with each step, then to a safe place to meet your Higher Wisdom. There, you talk to your Higher Wisdom and receive insight into what you are thinking and feeling and what you want to change. You then bring the knowledge back up to the conscious state. Going to deeper levels intensifies the therapy. Hypnotherapy teaches you to go to yourself for your answer.

INNER CHILD THERAPY

Going into the past to see what you missed as a child -- or to see where you took on undeserved blame or guilt -- gives you data to explain current behavior. Inner Child Therapy quickly gives you the insight needed to identify what you need to heal. The past doesn’t change. You just change the parts of you that were created by the past.

NATIVE AMERICAN MEDICINE WHEEL

When you are stuck, confused, or hopeless, the Medicine Wheel teaches that you can just keep moving. You don’t have to be stuck.  This process starts with finding your vision (your change) from the East. Then, you progress to the South, where you experiment with the vision to see if it is going to work. You then go to the West, where you fine-tune the idea, then finally, to the North, where you sit in wisdom with the vision. Then what happens? In time, you again move to the East and start over again with a new idea or a further refinement of the last vision. There are steps along the way to guide you to the next step and Medicine to assist you in these steps. For instance, after receiving your vision and before you experiment with the new idea, you learn confidence and balance. It is a beautiful feeling to know you are always on your way to Wisdom and that you just need to take a step along the way.

NEUROLINGUISTICS

When you learn, you do so with hearing, sight and feelings. Neurolinguistics teaches that these senses need to be considered as you identify where you learned a pattern – i.e. what did you hear others say, what did they look like and what were they feeling when they convinced you you were inadequate? In turn, what do you need to say to yourself, see yourself doing and feeling when you change that pattern? All senses are included in your therapeutic work.

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Often people with chronic pain or illness are misunderstood by family and friends. Pain management helps you create a more effective support system. Treatment includes learning, visualization and relaxation techniques that lessen your pain. Often group work is effective so that you talk to others who are in a similar situation.

SHAMANIC JOURNEYING

This method is similar to Hypnotherapy, but you listen to drums as you go deeper to ask your Higher Self a question. The drums are set to a rhythm that facilitates a deeper state. Irene is trained by Michael and Sandra Harner and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

TALK THERAPY

Sometimes, just talking gives you a chance to clarify your thoughts. It is important to include this in your journey.
